I print and tone each silver gelatin print in my darkroom
Each print comes matted and framed and is offered in an edition of 10 plus 2 artist proofs.
About my process: I use digital medium-format cameras but print my work in the darkroom using the traditional silver process. I make a negative of the photograph on the computer and print it onto transparency paper. I then contact-print the image on fiber-based gelatin silver paper in my darkroom, using techniques such as dodging and burning to make final aesthetic adjustments, and using wet chemistry to develop the print. I finish the print by toning it using sepia and/or selenium toners. This digital/analog hybrid approach produces prints of exquisite beauty. The best of both worlds, in my opinion.
